Not Only Area, Novanto Cell in Sukamiskin Also Has a Work Desk

The Ombudsman found that the former Chairman of the DPR Setya Novanto cell was larger than other prisoners' rooms in Sukamiskin Prison, Bandung, West Java. Not only that, in his room there is also a work desk.

detikcom received photos when the Ombudsman made a sudden inspection (inspection) to Sukamiskin Prison on Thursday (9/13) night. Sidak was led by Ombudsman member Ninik Rahayu on Thursday (13/9) night. Ninik was accompanied by the chief representative and 11 assistants from the Ombudsman.

Novanto's cell itself seems broad. Inside is a bed and white sheets and an exhaust fan. There are also bookshelves to work desks complete with chairs.

"He (Nazaruddin and Setnov) is hanging out there. What is being talked about, I don't know," Nanik said when contacted by AFP via telephone on Saturday (09/15/2018).

Nanik said that the room inhabited by Novanto was indeed wider than the rooms in other cells. He doesn't know the exact size, but he thinks it's twice as big as the other cells.

Although broader, Ninik said there were no luxury facilities in the inmate's room for the e-KTP corruption case. He claimed to not find luxury items in the cell, such as television. He only mentions Novanto cells equipped with toilet seats.

Asked about the room number occupied by Novanto, Ninik claimed he had not had time to see. But he made sure that the room occupied by Novanto was different from what was seen in Mata Najwa's show, which at that time participated in the inspection together with the Director General of Pas Sri Puguh Budi Utami.

"I want to show you yesterday that Mr. Setnov said that the room is small, so I showed you the picture, it's different from the other rooms. Look at the picture," he said.

Novanto previously denied the Ombudsman about his wider room.

"It's not there, it's normal. It's not big, it's a former prison. There's nothing big, it's the same, it's all the same, standardization is the same," Novanto said at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Jalan Bungur Besar Raya, Central Jakarta, Friday ( 14/9).
